Community Tasting Notes 2

March 21, 2021 - I agree with the earlier review by Aardvark, although I might lean more to blueberry and raspberry, but this is on the same spectrum as strawberry and I think either way we are speaking of some appealing, scented and ripe fruit. I also agree with the secondary characters noted and this makes for a surprisingly complex wine, given its very humble price. It is a bit finer than many wines from the Barossa floor and many Grenache dominant wines at this price point. It lacks the depth of flavour to rate as a serious wine, but the complexity and finesse make it more than a mere quaffer. It works best with food and it is perfect with things like quality pizza - this is no put down, in this case. Think quality Cotes du Rhone.

An interesting side note for me is that even on the fourth day open it was surprisingly fresh and I felt it was starting to put on some mid palate weight. Could this cheap and cheerful move up a notch or two with 5 or so years put away?

November 29, 2019 - sour cherry, strawberry and earthy
spice characteristics on the nose. These notes follow
through on the palate; it is a well-balanced wine with fine
    grained tannins.
