Community Tasting Notes 5

December 21, 2023 - Purchased upon release and cellared under ideal conditions, this medium golden wine was decanted in order to blow off any reductive elements. Thereafter, it was serially tasted over 2-3 hours. Served at cellar temperature, this is a highly aromatic Chardonnay, flaunting a bouquet of orange blossoms, yellow peaches, Anjou pears, lemon verbena, honey, pine nuts and wet stones. Medium-bodied, crisply acidic, proportionately oaked and with well-integrated alcohol (listed as 13%), it delivers flavors that match the aromas, adding a note of cardamom. Dense in the middle and concluding with a lengthy, saline-laden finish, this premier cru white Burgundy is the real deal. I am not certain if decantation is necessary, as the wine showed no reductive notes upon the initiation of tasting. That said, decantation certainly did not hurt. Drink now-2030.

September 11, 2021 - Really a delicious bottle of wine … crisp, citrusy, maybe a touch of honey

February 6, 2021 - Paid $145 at the Fishery in San Diego, An excellent wine. The lemony aspects were subdued and perfect for fish. I did a mental comparison with the Mayacamas that I have been very negative on. If the back end of Prudhon had Mayacamas's fruit, or Mayacamas had the front taste of Prudhon, then these would be very great wines. Mayacamas needs to up their game, they have the fruit, just don't seem to know how to get the right balance on the lemon.

    September 1, 2020 - Light straw.
Nose light matchstick, some golden fruit.
Palate wonderful lemon and stone fruit, crystalline clarity.
Almost a candied sweetness on finish.
Overall a lovely white burg, very drinkable now. 92 pts
