Community Tasting Notes 13

June 13, 2023 - Prior bottle was just over 18 months ago and this wine has taken a small step backwards in the time (even more clear when I tried the 2018 the following day). Red cherry, earth and light minerals on the nose, but a bit dryer and not quite as aromatic as before. Close to medium bodied with red cherry upfront, still gaining a bit of depth through the middle and adding some red berry notes towards the back. Almost no raspberry now, just a faint highlight. The mid-body still works well with the tart notes, acidity and minerals behind, but the fruit has lost a small step which has impacted the balance. All that said, these are small, incremental changes and the wine is still drinking well, if slightly lighter and ever so slightly less in complexity. But these are clear signs of where this wine is headed. It was designed for early consumption and should be drunk over the course of 2023 to enjoy what it currently has to offer - additional time won't be a benefit.

December 3, 2022 - Generous and perfumed nose with loads of crushed berries and a hint of orange peel. A bit smokey in the beginning, but this quickly blew off.

On the palate the wine is medium weight, with youthful red fruit and a bit of spice. Bright acidity, fine-grained and ripe tannins. Smooth and well balanced with a very good grip. Compared with my notes from 2.5 years ago, the wine has taken on both complexity and depth. These are so good upon release, but apparently a few years in the cellar or cabinet make them even better. Very very good

January 7, 2022 - Prior bottle was nearly a year ago and this wine remains in a good spot. Nose is essentially unchanged with red cherry, earth and mineral notes along with a nice mix of bright qualities and darker notes. Nearly medium bodied and the general profile remains the same: rounded red cherry upfront, slightly darker red cherry through the middle with some hints of brightness and then red raspberry and red berries through the middle. Backside shows tart red cherry, spices, minerals, very fine grained tannins and acidity. These structural notes continue to come into better balance with the mid-body fruit, especially after a few hours open. While it shows well initially, it's well worth giving it 2+ hours open ahead of time to allow everything to integrate. I'll save my last bottle for Q4 2022.

September 26, 2021 - God, fruktig og noe jordlig. Saftig og tydelig frukt på smak, lang.
