Community Tasting Notes 12

October 17, 2019 - I should have thought harder about my last note and waited a decade. Similar notes to last time, but this bottle was too young. Several more years would serve this well.

August 20, 2017 - For mine this is over delivery by a carefully cellared village wine. Beautifully approachable and evolved pinot noir. Elegant, wonderful mouth feel, a little earth, a little mushroom still some background lurking fruit. I honestly could drink it all night.

March 14, 2017 - Maybe this is just too young. 1/3 of the bottle drunk on night one, the rest on night two, and it was clearly better the second night. There is some richness on the palate, with cherry, and hints of minerals and tobacco, and there is a sense of balance. But the wine lacks the charm and the elegance I look for in Chambolle. 87+

January 13, 2017 - I'm kind of baffled by this... Give this a few hours in the decanter and it's tough to put down. A sweet core that just builds in intensity. The texture is kinda perfect- and the only real giveaway to its age. I'm hoping for some more complexity to come with more age- but that may take another decade. But this is the 6th bottle I've drank- and I had no idea the bottle I was opening was going to be as intense as it was. While my memory is certainly failing me, I think this has turned some sort of magical corner, and now I'm not sure if I should drink my remaining bottle in a decade or so- or much sooner as I planned.

April 30, 2016 - Dark and powerful. Savory with a strong line of tannin and a backbone of dark fruits. Drank with lamb rump.
