April 5, 2009 - Probably a bit young. Fairly big and robust. The oak treatment comes through with some vanilla and spicy notes. Sweet tannins and ripe fruit characters. The grip is a little too strong right now, but should settle down in a couple of years. Not a great wine with only moderate complexity, and would easily be confused with Cab. That said, this was certainly enjoyable.
