  July 30, 2023 - Late night pnp for the HMCs, as we needed just one more bottle. Given its comparison to the '17 Zen Master just before it....there is no comparison. This is darker in the glass, darker on the nose and darker on the palate. More black fruit qualities throughout. Tastes almost Mould vineyard-ish as compared against the '17 Zen Master that was more reddish and just as deep which was a great feat for any '17 cab from Napa. A nice wine but not the Zen Master, tonight.

  March 12, 2022 - First bottle of this one......decanted for 90 min before back in the bottle and over to the HMCs for dinner.......glass poured and bottle enjoyed over about 2 more hours. At the pnp, not much of a nose, this is quite tight/tannic and high in iron pan to go with the dark red/black fruit and a tad course in the mouth. 2 hours in and this adds weight, depth and smoothes out quite a bit. Very well balanced at that point. It's rich and decadent in its own way. Maybe more sweet tobacco as it airs out through the night? Quality wine but needs either air right now or more time in bottle.

  September 20, 2019 - Tastings; 9/19/2019-9/20/2019 (Napa): Barrel sample from a vineyard at the bottom of Pritchard Hill. Plush and perfumed red fruit. Tasted at the Dakota Shy Winery.
