February 22, 2022 - I’ll give this wine credit — it hides its 15 octane very well. Only tell was my slurring speech at the end of the night.
Deep purple with a nose of farmland “funk”. Color of a much younger wine. Taste is… I can’t get much in the way of specific flavors. Dark fruits, soft but still noticeable tannins, and moderate minus to low complexity. The fruit may have faded given its age, but no noticeable secondary characteristics.
It’s a simple, straightforward wine, but perfectly acceptable accompanying a late night snack of leftovers. -
