March 7, 2024 - Decanted 2 hours. Very typical old school Roddolo, funky and earthy; it screams Piedmont. Red cherry and fruit are definitely there but barely popping thru the tannins. Spectacular wine with a lot of life left; I’ll come back to it in 2-3 years.

September 17, 2023 - Approachable day one, pnp. House funk which I have recognised across his range over the last year.
Day 3, last glass, beautiful sniff, house funk reclined. Floral, jumps out of the glass, deep purple flowers, some tar, aceton & pepper. Bit more grained on the palate than day one naturally. Cool, no heat.
Lively and in a good phase, complexity one upside, but one heck of a vibrancy currently.
Tasted beside the La Ca’ nova montestefano 2019.

April 29, 2022 - Luxurious tobacco essence as you open the bottle. Red cherries. Chewy tannins. As the night proceeds the tannin begins to predominate and hide the fruit.

October 22, 2021 - Brief vacation notes; 10/17/2021-10/22/2021 (Hotel Sonne, Partschins, IT): Popped and poured, tasted in parallel with his 2012 Nebbiolo. If the simple Nebiolo is the "peasant", than the Ravera is the "princess". No rough edges, really elegant and balanced. Juicy, fresh, alcohol wonderfully balanced. Drinks very good now with a beautiful texture and structure, but will for sure develop over the next decade. 92-93+
What a beautiful and interesting pairing!
