March 27, 2023 - Negociant Barbaresco with a bit of oak on it. If you're okay with those things, this is quite pleasurable.
Raspberry jam, strawberry jam, cramberry, graphite, dried dead leaves on the nose. Great intensity of aromas here, though less so of flavors. The palate is pretty consistent with the nose; but again, less intense. It also adds a slate/chalky note keeps things interesting.
Medium bodied with medium + acid, medium tannin (less than I thought for Barbaresco of this age). Drink now - I don't think this is going to last much longer. The beautiful nose is enough to carry this to an 88 for me. -

January 16, 2021 - Purchased at auction for $13. 100% Nebbiolo. Aged 4 years. Normally sells for $30. Brick red. Dry and rather upfront. Notes of black cherries and leather. Shorter finish. 85 points
