May 8, 2024 - The complexity on the nose was the saving grace for me because the tannins are a bit chewy still. Great character to the wine with leather, game/meat juices with deep red cherry fruit intact with a peppercorn spice component that is almost Northern Rhone-like. It's a relief that these Morot wines can start to resolve, as I have tasted a handful from the 90's and early 00's that can show a lot of unresolved tannins to make for a rustic impression. This bottle, however, is starting to hit its stride.
