September 7, 2020 - From a 375ml. This is why we age wine. This surprised me how good it was. Smooth from the attack to the finish. Slightly off dry. Good acidity but not too strong. Aging may have mellowed the sweetness. Of course lychee on the nose but also some other perfume notes, like a little bit of rose. Also some nice spice and honey on the nose and on the palate. Not a remarkedly long finish but it was elegant. I’ve had better gewürztraminer. A friend from San Francisco would dig out Weinbach gewurz from the late 1980s from a forgotten corner of his cellar and I’d want to take the bottle and go huff it in the corner. Those were also much sweeter. The ZH is showing great right now. I don’t think it’s going to get better. A Premier Cru import.

January 24, 2020 - Medium gold. Great spicy nose, apricot, cement, saffron and pear. Rich dried fruit flavours and a slightly soft, slightly bitter finish.

November 1, 2019 - peach pit, burned caramel, earthy spicy notes, medium broad, good concentration, low acidity, light on its feet, fermented almost dry, bitter finish of burned notes, fruit skins, slight nuttiness in finish. Note, Not a desert wine. Drink this with Indian food, funky cheeses, spicy Thai noodles. Good, interesting, but not a stunner. At the Pole

February 24, 2017 - Same score and views as in 2015. At least there has been no noticeable decline of substance since 2015

February 14, 2016 - Seems even better than last time, and could drink it all day! Good nose, great GREAT mouth, and a very nice length. Good dark white fruit, lychee, all of that typical Gewurtztraminer stuff. Could use a bit more of that bitter Gewurtztraminer bite, but that's quibbling here.

    Wish that I had more!
