    August 12, 2021 - Appearance
The wine is a clear medium ruby.

    Nose
The wine is developing and offers medium aromas of raspberry, strawberry, red cherry, cranberry, violets, white pepper, and red plum.

    Palate
The wine is dry with a medium body, high acid, medium tannins, medium alcohol and offering pronounced flavors of raspberry, cherry, red plum, strawberry, dusty stones, and savory herbs with a medium finish.

    Conclusion
The quality of this wine is very good. Very fruit forward yet still has the elements to age a few more years. Big Basin is one of my favorite producers, and they offer tremendous value for the money. Their vineyards are not very far from Ridge in the Santa Cruz mountains. Excellent syrah and chard as well. Life and wine are good!

July 20, 2021 - Decanted for an hour.
Beautiful soft red stained glass color fading towards the edge. Nose is warm wildflower and rock with a hint of salt and pepper. Some stewed red fruit sneaking through. Palate is softer than I expected; not a complaint. Stewed red fruit continues with a delightful garigue and a hint of wildflower. Tannins and acidity are balanced and will only integrate more completely if you can wait. Knew this would be good, Bradley and team always make exceptional wines of place, but didn’t expect it to be so good so young. But try to wait another 2 years.

November 7, 2020 - A rather red fruited and flinty pinot. Fresh and lively with plenty of red cherries. Almost graphit-y on the end with a stoney spiciness.

June 19, 2020 - Opened 90 mins ago. Tasting outside with no chill, call it 68f. After tasting the 2017 BB Old Corral PN last week, I much prefer this Alfaro. This has the purity, the depth that reminds me of Jamie Kutch's wines. Terrific balance with flavors of watermelon, cherry, red apple that all get showcased around a creamy texture. The concentration in this wine is money, just beautiful. The fruit intensity carries through the finish, with just a touch of tang. Whereas the Old Corral was uber tangy and more rustic, this is red fruited delicious. Bravo, Bradley.
