Community Tasting Notes 4

December 9, 2021 - Medium (-) gold colour. Pronounced nose with yellow apples. Baked lemonC peach, charred wood, butter, toast, wet stone and flint. Medium (+) taste of yellow apples, lemon, peach, charred wood, toast, wet stone and flint. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium (+) body. A very good Santa Maria Chardonnay that is well made. Needed an hour to open. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well with cheese, fish or poultry.

June 16, 2021 - Lovely wine. It is more like a 1er Cru Chablis than a California Chardonnay.

August 21, 2020 - Nutty nose with oak, butter, tropical hints and some pepper. Spicy on the palate, well integrated oak, nice complexity, some bitterness. Very good.

February 1, 2020 - If the label didn’t say Santa Barbara this could be mistaken for Santa Cruz. Lean, zesty, Mineraly, bright lemon, and the wife liked it. No oak is apparent. Very low alcohol as well. I’ve never had a white wine from SB county that felt cool climate. We have that here. 91 for now. Potentially 92 with another 1-2 years of bottle age for the acidity to integrate.
