Community Tasting Notes 10

October 2, 2023 - This continues to get better with age. Similar to my tasting note from May 2022. Very good new world Cali Cab. blend.

April 22, 2023 - Really well balanced with velvety tannins. Ripe boysenberry and blueberry, hints of oak and tobacco leaf. Really great Bordeaux style blend

  • AGELVIS Likes this wine: 93 points

March 30, 2023 - Two hour decant. Very very deep magenta color. Prailine, black cherry, meringue, sesame seeds, and subtle leather and peanut oil. Smooth, dry palate. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

This is still drinking well, but it’s not as good as it was last year (for me). It’s gotten more savory.

May 31, 2022 - This was considerably better than the last time I tasted it approximately 1 year ago. Maybe it was the longer decant? Maybe it was an additional year of age? Maybe it was the food it was paired with (brisket burgers)? I’m not sure, but I enjoyed this wine especially the complex Bordeaux like flavor profile. It is not your typical boring extracted fruit, creme de cassis, high alcohol fruit bomb. It has some nice layers if you slow down long enough to peel them back.

March 6, 2022 - Black currants, fresh black plums, chocolate, and shiny of bell pepper. Very full bodied and good balance of acidity and oak. Not overly extracted or overly packed and a bit more balanced than many CA cabs these days. Fantastic PQR.
