  Deep, luminous lemon yellow color. Fresh, somewhat restrained and slightly waxy nose with harmonious aromas of golden apples, some quince, a little bit of cantaloupe, light smoky notes of flint and a floral hint of meadow flowers. The wine is full-bodied and somewhat restrained on the palate with dry, slightly reticent flavors of ripe red apples, some sourmilk, a little bit of toasty spice, light creamy tones, a hint of steely minerality and a touch of wizened citrus fruits. The wine is moderately high in acidity with a somewhat oily mouthfeel concentrated by the age. The finish is ripe, mellow and quite round with pretty long flavors of citrus zest, some mealy golden apples, a little bit of tangy salinity, a hint of spicy wildhoney and a mineral touch of wet stones.
  
  A harmonious, pleasantly developed and thoroughly enjoyable Sauvignon Blanc that is wonderfully fresh and surpriisngly alive for the variety clocking at +25 years of age. Overall the wine seems to have started to fade away a little with the age, but there is still enough fruit, depth and complexity here to say it is at its plateau of maturity or very close to it. A lovely, rewarding wine.
