February 28, 2024 - Pop and pour from a half bottle. Wow, this is the best Arcadian pinot I've had. For the first 30 minutes it completely resembled a Bordeaux, with funk, pencil lead, leather, scorched earth, etc... After that, the palate became leaner and more mineral-driven, reminiscent of an aged Burgundy.

May 27, 2023 - From magnum and decanted. Consumed side by side with an Ampelos Pinot from the same vineyard and vintage. While this bottle delivered the usual suspects of flavor (cherry, cola, vanilla, forest floor), there was a dullness to it. It lacked the brightness and seamlessness we almost have come to expect from Arcadian. And it just did not perform as well as the Ampelos which was a true surprise. The possibility of heat damage is very real here as it was shipped (against my wishes) with cold packs but still arrived with elevated corks. Very little sediment. 13.5% alc. With grilled ancho-cocoa dusted boneless pork chops. 05.27.23. No recommendation given due to possibility of heat damage.

January 20, 2023 - Translucent darker ruby. Nose of brisk saline, nostril-filling lilting violets, dark berry, fine dirt. Layers of dark raspberry, iron-inflected earth, and brambles on the earthy, finely granular palate. Firm but softened tannin balancing freshening acidity. Longer finish of lovely deep-set berry fruit, powdered stone, and sweet earth. Last bottle, the best one yet.

May 25, 2022 - Medium dark red. Pretty big wine, spicy, funky red cherry and berry nose. Lots of flavour, cherry, earth and a bit of berry. Long dry finish.

    Needs time.

December 11, 2021 - Pretty. It was a long time to come to this and finally hitting. Peak maybe a year or two still.
