  December 27, 2023 - Drank at Wine Conservatory with Ron and the boys for a pre xmas finale. Double decanted and breather for a good hour.
  
  That night also consumed a 2006 Far Niente Cab, a 2007 Tignello, a. 2009 Pahlmeyer, a 2010 Vajra Barolo Bricco delle Viole and 2015 Mascarello Barolo Monprivato di Castilione Falletto.
  
  The Dunn was in a great spot, structure and rich and preferred over the Far Niente and Tig. Frankly having moved on from Cabs, there was a clear demarcation. The Pahlmeyer and two barolos really stood out. Had the Dunn been served on its own it would be impressive, but on this night the table was crowded with some excellent others

  August 4, 2023 - I was totally disappointed; It is only the second Dunn I have had, and it was underwhelming. Still young, but the flavors were not at all unified and the balance was not yet there. Maybe a wine for the future (If so, rather impressive for an18 year-old wine; but I think that is not the case)

  July 22, 2023 - Popped and poured. This is a deep red wine. There is some distinct staining on the shoulder of the bottle and moderate sediment toward the end. The nose is highly expressive and shows mint, blueberry, pencil, and blackberry. In the mouth, the wine is restrained at first and generally tightly packed, but opens up to medium fruit with integrated acid and tannin. The finish is quite long and serious, although it nevertheless invites the drinker back for more. Overall, this is plainly an old-school mountain Cab. This strikes me as a rather young wine at 18 years old – it might live forever. 92 points.

  July 2, 2023 - Lots of wine at a fun dinner tonight so no official TN but this held no surprises. A typical Dunn with good structure and no surprise still very young. True to form kept getting better as the night progressed.

  May 13, 2023 - Refined Dunn package. Smoke, currant, boysenberry, hint of bret. perfect balance, medium finish. Squarely in the Dunn profile for Howell Mountain.
