February 5, 2020 - Two visits to Waiheke Island (Easter 2019 and New Year's 2020) (Auckland, NZ): Bottle tasting, small pour. Obsidian has only one row of Tempranillo vines and annually makes only about 200 bottles of this wine. Bright ruby colour. A bouquet of dark cherries, spices, cassis and a touch of toasty oak. In the mouth, a full yet fresh expression. Clean and juicy with soft tannins. Good for this level. Drink from now.
