December 3, 2022 - Prior bottle was almost 2 years ago and this wine is showing really well and in some ways, clearly improving. Nose continues to show white apple, white peach and citrus, but now with some white tropical notes in the background as well. Medium bodied with white apple and white peach upfront with some melon/pear highlights. Mid-body add white tropical notes along with deeper and more defined peach and apple. These notes are balanced with good acidity on the backside which bridges to the finish of citrus and minerals. This wine is showing really well at present, but in a very stable fashion that it should be able to maintain for several more years. That said, it's showing really well at present and I'm likely to drink my last bottle alongside the 2016 in early 2023 (should've bought more.....).

February 7, 2022 - Finger Lakes, NY, 2018 Hermann J. Wiemer Riesling Dry Reserve, $25. Mid-dark gold; some viscosity (12.5 alc.); aromatic, green fruit, lemon, lime, floral nose; dry; low-mid acids; balanced; long semi-crisp fruity finish, hint of minerality. w/appetizers. 16.5 UC Davis scale, 91 other scales.

September 12, 2021 - Everything from nose to palate told me this was a Chardonnay, not a Riesling from a super high quality Riesling producer from the Finger Lakes. Maybe the malo went off the rails on this one.

May 31, 2021 - Did not tasted corked or otherwise "bad" but not up to standard. Initial impression was thin and acidic, second hit was some fruit and more body; like two different wines. Not at all like I remembered it from tasting there or other bottles. Didn’t taste corked. Did we get an off bottle or is it going through some sort of transition and we caught it at the wrong time?
