April 5, 2024 - Deep ruby with medium, plus intensity, developing aromas of violet, blackberry, raspberry, vanilla, cedar, tar. This wine has high alcohol and medium plus body and acidity with medium tannins. The palate matches the aromas with the addition of chocolate, plum and tobacco. This wine has a medium plus finish.

I decanted the wine for an hour and paired the wine with lasagna. The chocolate, tar and vanilla aroma‘s and flavors become much more pronounced with the red sauce. This wine has soft tannins and a longer than expected finish. It’s a beautiful pairing which improves the overall profile of the wine. This is a good wine that should be drunk now and the next three years. It is likely at its peak right now.

March 26, 2024 - My last bottle, still tasting relatively young, despite the 8 years of age. Good acidity, mixture of blueberry with a bit of red plum, and a touch of tannin. Quite a nice barbera, need to acquire more recent vintages from this fine producer

November 1, 2022 - This wine has a lovely mouth feel, but the nose was reticent. After three hours, it opened up a bit, revealing a mixture of blueberry pie and white flowers. Tannins are still grippy. I believe the potential is greater, perhaps two years down the road

June 18, 2021 - This is a fine Barbera (characteristic of Asti wines), that has clear and amazing aging potential!!!!

Tonight it paired wonderfully with baked sausage, tomato, vegetable and polenta, superb!

    Cheers!
