Wunderbar.
May 22, 2022 - Cape Cru South Africa Tasting (Zuiderkerk, Amsterdam): Beautiful; honey, apricot, full bodied with good acidity. Very long finish
April 25, 2022 - This was fantastic!!!
November 25, 2021 - Nutty, sweet honey, could use some more acidity but absolutely lovely if you love sweeter wines. Need to buy some more.
September 1, 2021 - Not in balance - missing balancing acidity so this came across as quite cloying. A klein constancia made it look particularly unbalanced in comparison
August 3, 2021 - By the glass at Noble Rot in Wellington. Honeyed, lightly nutty, juicy, quite sweet but with ample tart acidity. Comes across as young, but enjoyable.
March 18, 2021 - On safari; 3/17/2021-3/19/2021 (Mombo Camp, Okavango Delta, Botswana): Intensely sweet. Apricot, mango, honey. Thought my 14-year-old twin boys might like it for that reason, but I was wrong. Beautiful flavor without the complexity and length, at this point, to inch above 95 points from me.
December 26, 2020 - Great stuff here! Lots of ripe mango, pineapple, honey and papaya on the nose, abundance of tropical fruits on the palate, needs to soften a touch but it’s got a really long finish
May 9, 2020 - A little too young in the moment. Nice notes of pineapple, peach and yellow apple. Sweetness needs to integrate more. Acidity could be a little higher for my palate.
May 1, 2020 - Lots of honey, dried apricot and peaches with some white chocolate. The wine is very intense and has a long aftertaste. Overall a little more acidity would be needed to balance the tremendous amounts of residual sugar (about 350 g/l). Still a fascinating chenin blanc from South Africa.
