  January 20, 2021 - Did round out those awkward touches after a further year. All gone now, but I expect it would have continued to improve.
  
  I did a little test of the value of decanting such a white wine, tasting it straight before and after a double decant. It was definitely worthwhile. And the wine still lasted fine for a few days in the fridge.
  
  No signs of a follow-on vintage. I suspect this was an exclusive special for Majestic, who are now instead selling a similar, but somewhat cheaper, exclusive special CB from another reputable SA producer.

  January 29, 2020 - Straw coloured, fresh, with crunchy grapefruit and quince flavours, quite concentrated and long, but I've marked it down a bit because of a persistent bitterness on the aftertaste, a tad too much in the grapefruit way perhaps.
  
  By the fourth day, it had developed a very attractive smoky nose, and the fruit was peachier and less crunchy. The bitter finish was a bit better covered.
  
  Overall, very drinkable now, but I think will be better with a little more time in bottle.
  
  This is a more mass-market label from Alheit, being marketed by mass-market Majestic in the UK. In price it is a notch below his Flotsam and Jetsam label, which is sold by up-market merchants Lay and Wheeler. The F&J (having drunk some bottles of the 2017) is more elegant, whereas this is riper and fruitier and more approachable sooner.
  
  Btw the wording "Paxton Kellerman & Co" is part of the label design, not intended as the name of the wine. Back label explains.

  December 30, 2019 - This is excellent - nicely balanced and fresh with just-ripe fruit and a touch of mineral backbone. Good length. Will keep the other bottle to see what happens over a couple of years.
