Community Tasting Notes 4

December 27, 2021 - The third of a lovely triumvirate of mid-2000 Beaune wines tasted over the last week. Joining the club of light colored yet beautifully textured wines. The highlight here is solar fruit, purity and a fullish character that is wonderfully balanced. Again, this just tastes like what I want CdB reds to taste like. Maybe lacking a bit of intensity that the Briailles showed. Nonetheless, delicious and worthy of contemplation. Ready to go yet will provide pleasure for another decade at least. Not in the least bit rustic. (92)

November 22, 2013 - A little less ready than some of my recent 2005 beaune 1ers, this came together quite nicely on the second night. A fair amount of oak on the first night, but 24 hours later it is very well absorbed. Rich palate with vibrant acidity to compliment the rich fruit. Black and blue fruited with a cool mineral streak throughout. Nice long finish as we are emptying the bottle at the end of the second night. Very nice effort. Wait 5 years or decant well in advance if drinking soon.

December 5, 2008 - Medium body, good fruit , string acidity. Not sure if this will improve with some time.

July 14, 2007 - juicy nose of red fruits; solid tannins, but no oomph factor.
