April 17, 2024 - the typicity as a Chablis was positive, the chalky minerality was recognisable, but ultimately it was a little too undefined and not precise enough for me. I'm not quite sure where the bitter notes and phenolics at the back come from. Perhaps thicker skins because of the sun? I generally love the wines from Dauvissat, but this bottle didn't quite pick me up. 89/100 2024-2030

March 23, 2024 - Dauvissat is always a treat. Unfortunately it’s quite rare I get to taste such rarities as Duvissat. The level of complexity is so unique for his wines - there is a wildness to this wine that present itself in a such controlled way. Points doesn’t really matter. Let the wine speak for itself and you’re left with an experience that is forever imprinted in your memory. That’s why these wines are so special.

October 11, 2022 - Tasted vis-avis the Ravenau Montée de Tonnere 2019, this is so different - real Chablis, said Peter. Real Dauvissat, anyway, quite rich, spice, accent on the mineral, a full bodied wine, yet balanced and fresh. Still young.

July 17, 2022 - Sunday hangout (and goodbyes) (Chicago, IL): Another underwhelming bottle of Dauvissat (my guess is that I'm at a 50/50 hit rate at this point). Ridiculously peachy and ripe, with plenty of flab and definitely lacking any of the steely intensity that good Chablis ought to have. It got a little more savoury with air, but it just couldn't shed all the fat.

January 29, 2021 - Straw yellow with green reflex. Spectacular, mesmerizing nose. A bouquet that circles around from tropical notes (banana, mango, pineapple) and citrus, floral herbal notes (straw) and olives and back. After opening up, marine parfum. Overall the nose delivers a heady complex sweetness. A wine you do not want to start drinking for fear that the palate will not stand up to the nose. On the palate a spectrum of flavors that mirror the nose. Salty lemon confit, and so much salinity. Strong salty finish. Leitmotiv of 2018, just enough acidity to barely support this otherwise great wine. A dash of bitterness from the wood that will disappear very soon. I would consume in the next 3 to 4 years. Not enough acidity for the long haul. Such a pity. This said, totally worth the price differential with respect to Droin. If you ask me, buy one 2018 Sechet versus two 2018 Montee the Tonnerre (see my tasting note on Droin's) I have no doubts.
