June 17, 2016 - Appearance - medium gold, clear, still bright but reflects a little age.

Nose - clean, ripe fruits but definitely get the oak. Fruits are ripe Apple and lemon curd. Picking up strong baking spices, smells like those lemon bars with the buttery crust. Aromas are medium.

Palate - would say it is balanced and rate mediums across the categories, there is still a freshness mid mouth that creates a pop and then you taste the flavors but you know this has at least a little age on it. Consistent with nose. Alcohol is listed as 14.5 on label and it doesn't feel like it based upon mouth feel. Though, check back in 30 min and I'll know if I'm tipsy! Finish is medium plus and I would say the body has enough to suspect if can hold its own during a meal. Slight bitterness comes through on finish. Texturewise you do get that velvet feel.

Definitely more of what is viewed as a typical N. Calif chard, if that is your taste. I have moved towards the unoaked chard school of thought, but I think this winemaker has used it judiciously to the effect you want. The first sip seemed "too oaky" to me but as I taste it and it gets air I'm enjoying it. It's an interesting wine worth exploring at a reasonable price point.

Planning to pair with roast chicken and I think this will be a winner.

May 17, 2016 - Oak unless comes through from nose to finish. Fairly well balanced, not overly buttery.

May 12, 2016 - Sabor fuerte y bastante roblado. Pero aparejó bien con un bistec suave. Este vino tiene sabor suficientemente fuerte para aparejar bien con bife suave y bien marmolado. No tome este vino a temperatura de la nevera, sino más cerca de temperatura de ambiente.

November 20, 2015 - At Yan's China Bistro for Kathy, nose of citrus, oak, touch of allspice, and butter, more of the same on the palate, medium body, tasty, medium finish.
