December 22, 2021 - Drank alongside two other Pommard-Rugiens, a '98 Girardin and '95 Boillot, this was my least favorite of the trio. Ripe, almost raisiny nose, aromatically this speaks very little of pinot noir to me. Ripe kirsch flavors, this is a big wine, but with lively acidity and a rather rugged tannic finish. Made in a more modern style, it is still quite youthful and likely needs a lot more time to show its best.

January 8, 2017 - this was a fine Burgundy over two nights, at this point still mostly primary, red / purple fruit (lots), just a hint of secondary development beginning, good grip / structure suggests this can age well, I suspect the fruit here - robust as it is - will last another 10-20 years, really well made

December 25, 2016 - 375ml. Rich strawberries and dusty cherries. Deeper black and red fruits, tobacco, earth. Has a long life ahead of it. Long finish with leather.

January 10, 2016 - Lovely wine and makes you want to drink more aged Burgundy. Rustic while elegant and at a good age to enjoy. Color is getting a little rusty.

June 7, 2015 - Beautiful on the nose with an earthy funkiness over red fruits and spice. Maybe just a bit of orange blossom and Pune needle too. Palate is balanced and silky and really opens up with air. Finish is long.
