  Fresh and mellow, nice refinement, i can appreciate there’s a lot of aged wine in here. Very easy to drink, good acidic lift. Delicious.

  November 20, 2023 - Lunch with Mathilde (Tanglin Club Churchill Room): 95% C, 5% PN, Solera 2002 to 2015, partial MLF (60% without), stainless steel, 2000 bottles, bottle 05/2016, disgorged 6/2022, dosage 4.5g/l. Aroma of peach, white floral, touch of asparagus, good energy on the palate, dense and complex with good precision. Long long finish

  July 25, 2023 - Disgorged October 2021. This is the second of two bottles. This is mostly Chardonnay with 5% Pinot Noir, from a solera that started in 2002 and this includes the 2014 vintage as the ending point of the current solera. 4.5 gms of dosage. Open this yesterday and the first impression was a very bright pure distinct lemon profile. That remains today, maybe even a lemon curd, and I like the wine better with more chill as it tames some of the lemon lime sweetness that I perceive. I also find some pear and some minerality in the wine which I also enjoy but again that coming at a cooler temperature. As the wine warms up in the glass for me it loses complexity or the complexity that might be missing is more obvious. I just think this shows better, more generous at the right temperature so for what it's worth that's my recommendation.

Thought this was a higher dose cuvee, as for me this disgorgement borders on the lemon/lime feel that I don't care for in my Champagne. Seems to lack some complexity too in the palate and the consensus it seemed around the table was this was less interesting, which I agreed with. I have 2 bottles of this in my own cellar, so will get one open this year and see if I find the same result. Wasn't thrilled with this last night.

  October 12, 2022 - Second of two. This is the solera of 95% Chard and 5% Pinot Noir that began back in 2002. This bottle includes the 2013 base, although I don't know how much of that composes the %. 4 years on the lees, disgorged October 2019. 2000 bottles made, and I gotta give big props to Margaine for jamming so much info onto the back label. Stainless steel elevage and they even list the % of ML. Just awesome transparency. As for the wine, I opened this bottle yesterday and candidly I thought it was disappointing, kind of dull. So, I hoped that the wine would come out of the shadow and give me something more. Today, it finally does. In terms of texture, this is fatter (dosage is 4-5 g/l) and perhaps better said, it's plump in tone. And the acidity finally seems more present today, reflecting a citrus that is mostly orange and tangerine with a smaller imprint of citrus peel. Along with the citrus is some green apple, plus some refreshing pear. The finish is a clean tangerine that is bright with mint and a clean fennel infused finish. I've got more of this coming, and I have to think it's probably 2015 base so we'll see how the solera is coming along.
