June 29, 2021 - For its price point, this is an exceptionally versatile Chardonnay that won’t break the bank if served more often with everyday dinners. We enjoyed our bottle with steelhead trout - prepared two different ways - as a perfect pairing. The Ardèche, named after a French river valley of clay and limestone soils - has a pale yellow colour with aromas of peaches and almonds. Not surprisingly, given its terroir, this unoaked Chardonnay has flavours of chalk as well as hazelnut and tart apples. It pairs well with cheeses and charcuterie - great QPR. Cheers.

PS. I really wish more wineries took the ‘archival’ approach to their vintages that Maison Louis Latour does. Their website - http://ardeche.louislatour.com/en/wines/ - features a detailed description of every wine they’ve ever produced dating back to the 1990s. It’s amazing to be able to get this level of information for each bottle - perfect historical use of the Internet as it should be.

March 6, 2021 - Clear light straw color. Nose of lemon, apple. Light, mineral taste. Lemon peel dry. Reminds me of Chablis. A little butter after warming in the glass.

August 27, 2020 - Medium yellow. Nose of pear juice and chalk. Attack: lemon peel and apples. Mid-palate: butter. Finish: chalk and other minerals. Medium body. Medium finish.
