January 11, 2024 - With an unrivalled reputation globally for crafting sparkling wines of outstanding quality and exceptional age, House of Arras E.J. Carr Late Disgorged 2005 is the eighth release of this wine and pays tribute to the dedication and inspiration of its maker, and Australia’s most awarded sparkling winemaker, Ed Carr.

It's been a while since I've had this wine and it's developing nicely
Medium straw in colour with a bright, yellow/gold lustre, with an ultrafine and persistent bead. Aromas of sea spray, exotic spice, brioche. nuances of honey, nougat and field mushroom. The flavours have beautiful persistence and the wine finishes with the vibrancy of lingering natural acidity.

September 14, 2023 - Guys night - a bottle with a story (Jason's house): Light bread, energetic, nice salinity and a floral note.

September 14, 2023 - Guys Night - Wines with a story behind it! (Jason's House): This was a pleasant surprise! I enjoyed more recent releases at the winery, and thought they were surprisingly good, so I purchased one of these to bring home to the states.

I opened this at a wine tasting event, and it was well received by everyone, including me. Very reminiscent of an aged Champagne. Lots of brioche, saline, chalk, pear and apple. In a word, "Delicious!"

Solid 94 for this beautifully aged Aussie sparkler! Actually wish I had more!

June 12, 2023 - Complex with floral notes. Fruit still present. Brichoche and biscuit with savoury lees notes. Wonderful example of a top flight sparkling wine.

December 11, 2021 - Mini Grapemates Christmas Party 2021: Musky, floral, lemon and lime on the nose. Touch on the ripe side on the palate, has good texture and the acid cuts in just enough to push through. Good length and style, though the sweetness stands out a bit much for my taste.
