September 23, 2022 - Fruit Day - garnet core with mild bricking at the rim. Nose shows ripe plum, oak, vanilla dried black fruit, cedar, graphite, and some earthy/funky notes. On the palate the dried and very ripe black fruit shows first with some cedar, dried red flowers, ripe black and blue fruit as well as some still fairly structured tannins and spice. This is surprisingly fresh and alive. Exceedingly well made and just starting to show tertiary notes (minor mushroom elements). I am so impressed with this version of this wine. Drinking beautifully now but still has up to 5 years left in a well maintained cellar.

April 15, 2020 - Nice — a bit leaner than the 2004 we had, also a touch or sweet fruit still in the back. Not showing as well but still drinking!

January 5, 2018 - Vic's bottle. Much better than mine have been. Not overripe at all, for one, but nicely tannic and heavily laden with green bell pepper notes which I don't object to, but some will. Otherwise blackberry, black cherry, tobacco, and a strong presence of Cab Franc. This wine has many good years left.

November 20, 2015 - First full bottle of Nota Bene. Prior experience was taster & by the glass. This dark wine is yummy & smooth on the palate. Espresso, licorice, dark choco notes follow by velvet tannins. Of course wine has the distinct Nota Bene taste of herbal & plastic/resin that's a bit of an acquired taste. All of us slowly appreciate that taste over the course of 3 hours. This "cult" wine most likely is not something I would buy at C$60+ after tax at retailers. But it is enjoyable and eye opener. Wine is wonderful now, so start drinking up, but should have life left.
