November 3, 2016 - Medium-dark red garnet in color. Forward, fragrant & attractive nose of rich, ripe fruits aromas of red cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of spices notes of cloves & cinnamon & earthy/dusty, floral notes, cola, herbs, minerals & a touch of vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, plush & rich, ripe red fruit flavors of sweet cherries, strawberries & red plums with spice notes of cloves and cinnamon, cola, herbs, earthiness, minerals & a bit of vanilla. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present & while it may be close or at its peak of development, it has the fruit & structure to hold for an other year or two. Quite Burgundian in style.

November 26, 2015 - This is in such a good place. Wonderful red fruits.

November 20, 2015 - Outstanding ....needs 30 mins to integrate and have the moldy edge dissipate. Mellow kiwi, strawberry, spice, dust ...so integrated and shifting layers of fruit and old world joy

December 20, 2014 - Cherry, oak, earth, cheese nose. Rich cherry fruit integrates well with the wood leather and earth flavors. Soft in the mouth with plenty of alcohol. Rich candied cherry finish.

September 22, 2014 - Delicious wine. Deep and dark, both in color and flavors. Holding up very well, but definitely softening. Wish I had more.

(Walter Hansel Winery Pinot Noir The South Slope Vineyard) Bright, almost dayglo, cherry red; lovely, Burgundian, elegant red fruit and mineral nose; tasty, tart red fruit, with minerality, good grip and acidity; medium-plus finish (Pommard and 777)
