November 27, 2016 - From the Avery auction: still very much alive but past it's prime. Decantered for 3 hours and that was too much. 1 hour max

December 9, 2010 - Narrowly avoided being poured down the drain upon opening and decanting as the nose was awful Fungal, vegetal, just weird and quite unpleasant. But given that I was surrounded by knowlegable winefolk, we all thought it deserved a chance. And lo and behold an hour later it was extremely drinkable! Certainly faded, dusty and past it, but an interesting curio with hints of nice fruit showing through. A lesson learnt in patience, and an enjoyable birth year wine for me. (Also enjoyed a better bottle of Bin 28 1970 at the same time from a friend)
