October 20, 2023 - Roagna Horizontal 2017 Part 2 (Yan Ting): Decanted for about 7 hours. Along side the Crichet Pajé, jammy, rich cherry, touch of heat. Lot going on the palate but needs more time for it to flash out. As it sits in the glass, rose and tar emerge revealing the more feminine side.

October 20, 2023 - Enjoyed this tonight. Open, balanced, savoury notes. Host decanted 8 hrs. Didn’t think a bottle this young would be able to drink like that after previous experiences with even older vintages. 94/95

September 25, 2022 - Beautiful leathery flowers emerge on pouring to pull you in. The components are all there on the palate - the big yet gentle tannins, the rose water mouth feel and the elegant kiss of cedar.

The sweetness of the fruit emerges only after a lot of effort in the glass. You start to see what this wine could be as the fruity acidity integrates, but you never see it in full bloom.

Looking at the label, a Bruno Giacosa Riserva should be much more. I definitely feel I'm missing something here - I will have to try this again in the future.

August 24, 2021 - Knightsbridge Tasting: A pretty wine showing both delicacy and power all at once. Nice red cherry fruit with red rose floral notes. While it has depth and is youthful this remains relatively friendly and defined. Not a wow wine, yet shows breed and nuance. Well defined and integrated frame. Very good, but perhaps short of real greatness. Needs time, although with a strong decant I expect this to already give plenty of pleasure.
