Community Tasting Notes 4

February 12, 2024 - From Magnum. A little wood glue volatility over muted red fruit and plenty of sweet spice. Non-intrusive alcohol prickle here as well. In the mouth it has medium plus intensity acidity married to warm and slightly baked red fruits, tannins are drying but silky textured. That slight wood glue note not present here, smidge of alcohol warmth on the finish. Not for me.

May 14, 2021 - Wonderfully balanced and intriguing. Equal part earthy herbs like sage, mace, tarragon, and cherry fruitiness. Like a Door County cherry pie with herbs in the crust.

February 13, 2021 - Richer, redder fruit nose than the Boer pinot. Not jammy, but definitely ripe--fruit leather, some plum and strawberry. Very fresh smelling. More strawberry on the palate, and less acid than the Antle vineyard. Still the Chalone minerality, though it shows up more in the finish of this wine. Very intense, and delicious. Plenty of acid to balance out the ripe fruit.

June 1, 2020 - Soft tannins, red berry driven, very fruity, opens up with air. No over powering oaky notes.
