March 12, 2024 - Very different. Sour cherries dominate. Almost a dead ringer for a Lapierre Morgon.

    November 5, 2021 - so good, pinot-bojo middle ground

October 10, 2021 - Second time drinking this. Sophomore slump, but still deeply moving. NOSE: Deathly reticent subterranean reserves of perfumed, raspberry and plum pulp. Seething, pungent herbs. A drop of mustard oil. MOUTH: flamboyantly savory, with authority, while seeping with juices extracted from silk pages pressed, in the distant past, with berries and lilacs. The experience forces its own slow pace. It’s like a curtain coming down on summer. The whoosh is audible. The sudden eclipse of bright light cools my eyes. I begin to taste prunes from the roots. TIME: What was that savory performance? The question dances into the void left by the curtain. Groomed thatch, bramble, and root. As it drinks, as it accumulates narrative momentum, these structural elements are surrounded by shameless plant sex. (The word “fruit” will not do.) Drinking it from the Ball Jar seems to concentrate its husky, rugged frame. It’s like driving a 1978 Chevy pickup fully loaded with illegal morels and porcini. The finish is richly sour. The acidity is like a cured spirit, a marine oil. Firm. 95+ points. I'll wait as long as I can to drink the next bottle.

August 27, 2021 - This was my first experience with a still wine from Champagne. Just a beautiful, unique expression of Pinot Noir. It really is "its own animal" as the shop owner advised me when I purchased it. Different expression from what you find in Burgundy, Cali, or Oregon. The cherry fruit is there, but the spice is what showed through for me first. Some floral notes, a touch of mint, and very well rounded. Vibrant acidity. Shared with friends and it was very well received.

October 21, 2020 - It really took a while for the reduction to blow off, so give this time, but this was special. I served this blind for some friends and it was fun to see the Burgundy guesses. Nose shows spicy red cherries, rhubarb, musky-meaty tones, with orange peel and ginger. Ripping acidity, but I love it. Light tannins, sour cherries, red apple peel. Racy and crunchy with spicy pepper, mint, beef drippings and mineral. After a decant and especially on day two, this was really firing.
