August 28, 2023 - Deep ruby. Splash double decant. This has opened up nicely over the past couple of years. Fourrier style mid to deep red fruit, a little lighter than the domaine Gevrey, but a sprinkle more spice. Transparent and attractive. This has mellowed considerably and is in a lovely spot currently. ***1/2 with upside.

December 18, 2022 - This bottle was a bit reticent to get going and say much, it seems like there’s enough here to develop into something good, but it feels a bit shut down right now

    January 17, 2022 - decanted
    nose - tea, rose hip
mouth - purity of dense red fruit, good minerality, fine grained tannins, which slowly unfurled in the glass. past the primary phase and needs some time to come together. Hold.

June 1, 2021 - First look at JMF’s negotiant line beyond the BR. Thought 17 might be approachable, but can’t quite decide whether this is closing up or opening up. Anyway, good dark red fruit, some spice, noticeable tannin. Decent crunch. I think this will be good with time. A thorough shake halfway down the bottle eased it a little, same profile but a little lighter on its feet. Top *** with potential for a little higher.

July 29, 2020 - Needed lots of air before revealing a nose of dark berry and dried violet. Medium bodied and supple with a chewy quality to the fine tannins.
