Community Tasting Notes 6

May 13, 2011 - Too old, tasted more like a 20 year old Napa cab from the 80s. Dirt, sweaty leather, stinky socks, but not corked or barn-yardy.

May 1, 2010 - decanted for 1 hour and it was still humming 3 hours later. Raspberry and prune on the nose. very dark in color and equally as wonderful as the last bottle. I will hold my last bottle for another year or two.

December 12, 2009 - A lot of red berry on the nose, but not a lot of sugar. A little dry on the finish, but a complex and well balanced wine. Good for at least another 2 years.

February 9, 2009 - Sealed with a plastic cork. What a disappointing bottle of wine. Tannins were fully resolved...to the point that it lacked any vibrancy and structure to balance the fleshy wine. Nose expressed dark fruits...a hint of earthiness. I generally enjoy petites at about 10 years of age, but this wine seemed flat. Color was a dark purple, with no bricking at the edges. Properly stored since release. Seal problem perhaps?

December 14, 2008 - Big blackberry fruit, disappointingly short finish, some heat and ample tannins, wine still very closed
