September 10, 2022 - Decanted for 1h then enjoyed over the course of 3h.
Slight reduction on opening, completely gone after decanting giving space to beautiful red fruit and earthy notes. Palate is super super good, great balance of minerality, savorniness, dominated by red fruit again. Very nice and enjoyable length.
    I seriously need more

July 23, 2021 - I think this is the best Bojo I've ever had, even with tough competition- also the most expensive, but not by a huge margin. Yeah it's priced high and prices will continue to climb, but even at $45 I thought this was stellar QPR- a singular wine with incredible beauty and complexity that remains very easy to fall in love with, even for beginners. It felt like a weightier, darker, fuller version of the wonderful Lapierre Morgon (I've only tried the entry level), although sacrificing nothing in terms of freshness.

Effortlessly perfumed nose combining that candied gamay fruit with a sense of perfect ripeness and earthy nuance. Fresh and wild blackberry/blueberry, blue raspberry candy, vanilla bean, beautifully integrated stemmy funk tones. I was surprised to see a number of notes here describing cola, which I associate with new world Pinot Noir, but it's definitely here too as a unique kind of high quality root beer note (the expensive ones that actually taste like sweet licorice and herbs, if you know what I mean.)

Palate is a real stunner as well, electric acidity, starts a little tart but softens beautifully as the almost creamy blue fruited ripeness creeps in. Plenty of tannin for potential aging, but you only notice it if you choose to- this is very silky and much more about the electric energy then a sense of heft. Still, there is a weightiness here, pushing it into a more serious realm than most other high quality Beaujolais which can be missing some structure (or have poorly integrated structure.) Held up incredibly well on day two (less of that bright forward fruit, but clearer complexity)- still tons of fresh dark berries, even more of that super lovely vanilla bean, and damp earthy minerals galore.

This is not one of those Beaujolais that's designed to mimic red burgundy, and it's better off for it. Instead it feels like a very complete and rich expression of what could only be gamay.

March 3, 2021 - fresh fennel, grass, five spice, fresh tobacco leaf, raspberry, blackberry, and underripe plum on the nose. medium bodied, mildly acidic, round and smooth. berry and plum on the palate. mildly dry on the back with fine, grippy tannin. medium length finish. tannins really smoothed out on day 2 and flavor profile remained stable.

August 8, 2020 - cloudy medium ruby pour. just a hint of orange rims. delicious nose with maple, horehound, and cola. medium bodied with a mild integrated acidity. singular smooth mouthfeel lies somewhere between silk and suede. sweet, soft red berries and cherry fruit. finishes long with a microfine, grippy, drying tannin. great now and for the forseeable future.
falls into the elite category of producers recognizable for the mouthfeel that is in it's own dimension. a great pleasure.
