August 19, 2023 - Signs of seepage, crusty spongy cork I managed to pull out in two pieces, wine level a little low. Nevertheless, color was fine, and so was the wine. Bit of plum, earthy,. Subtle tannins after opened 30 minutes. Still elegant.

August 22, 2020 - Very good wine - still has years left

Needs some time to open up but very smooth; still has a fair amount of power for such an aged wine

May 21, 2016 - Q2 Tasting - The Rhone! (The Apt): This bottle was definitely more like last legs than really youthful (bought in second hand market so perhaps not the same quality of storage?). Brickish color, lots of leather and saddle and older characteristics. Went quickly so seemed to be enjoyed.

January 29, 2015 - Northern vs Southern Rhones (Brooklyn Wine Exchange (BWe)): Bright garnet core with a brick colored rim. An initial bouquet of mature red fruits, warm spice and a bit of forest floor. The fruit still remarkably fresh hangs beautifully on the wines well defined structure. Smooth silky texture, with excellent balance and a lingering finish. The last bottle of a case bought in 1985 and well enjoyed over the last 30 years.

April 3, 2014 - Sadly heat-damaged, with lots of seepage on the neck and a very crumbly cork. Nose starts out smelling like Rodenbach sour ale, but with air it actually becomes gorgeous and totally classic, lots of just-ripe plums, red meat, coffee bean. Palate is awful, though.
