November 29, 2016 - Browning, light color; still not convinced, it has some cool, mineral qualities, but where is the beef, the Hermitage-beef? Acidity is quite good, the wine is light, somewhat short. Drink up, if you have any. Brought by PB.

July 10, 2012 - Color, light brick red, orange highlights. Nose: coffee, cacao, blood orange zest, cranberries, geraniums. Palate, med body, acid may be too much, notes of cranberries, geranium hints.

May 15, 2012 - Winemakers (mostly) gone but not forgotten (La Silhouette, NYC): From magnum. There's barely any fruit here, but lots of savoury smoky, dried meat and coffee flavours, a polished texture and good balance. Enjoyable though not profound, but I was struggling to pay much attention to this with the Chave and last sips of the Vallouit in my glass.

April 8, 2012 - Dinner in New Rochelle, Peter & Susanne (New York - the burbs): Coffee. This is the singular note, that I am left with. This was served, I think, to convince me of the virtues of the producers, but frankly it did not. It seemed quite monolitic and hard, somewhat extracted, and to rich. albeit, it was in rough company on a night with so many good wines. Also, of course, the vintage is not easy.

April 7, 2012 - Not as captivating as the last bottle, this one seemed a bit more tired displaying overt coffee/mocha and licorice marks. Did not change much over the course of 3 days. With Niels and AD at home.
