October 8, 2022 - Retail $40. I paid 16€ at Lidl in Souillac, France. 50% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir. It was after my last ride in the Dordogne Valley and I knew that my college football team was playing late at night (France time). They were supposed to win, I had suffered a downpour and a wasp sting, and I really did not have to do anything the following day other than catch an early afternoon train to Paris. So I figured I'd get a bottle of Champers because, well, yes. I did not recognize any of the three producers that Lidl had on the shelf so I did something I am ashamed to admit--I went with the best looking label. Go ahead, shame me endlessly. I deserve it. Good apple fruit, decent acidity, a touch of the autolytic goodness that we all love in champagne, but also a bit on the sweet side. Very good.

July 27, 2022 - Pretty generic and simplistic, not much autolytic character nor complexity. Dosage seems on the “high side” of Brut. Alright for around $30 USD. Perfect for the raw oysters and charcuterie.
