January 18, 2014 - The nose was beautiful and quite unique, with spicy, candied tones leading to Bing cherry, celery seed and candle wax. On the palate, it showed velvety textures with dark red fruit and a hint of bitters. The finish was staying with red berry and licorice lingering on the palate.

January 15, 2014 - 1989 Barolo and Barbaresco Single Blind (I Trulli Restaurant, NYC): [Opened at 6pm.] Gorgeous black fruit and spice. Sweet in the mouth. A beautiful wine from a producer I had not heard of before.

January 18, 2009 - Best bottle yet. Shows the benefit of 5 hours of decanting. This really all came together and was a confection of fine Serranlunga aromatics and some of sensations of the spice market in Istanbul. A kaleidoscope of baking and eastern spices, a touch of ferrous minerality, and a warmth of the Serralunga terroir all made for some really heady tertiary aromatics. The wine was full and round with more acidity than prior bottles and none of the slight sweetness that I've had in others. What a bottle! What a value

September 6, 2008 - Best bottle yet. Authentic Serralunga nose. Lots going on in palate -- definition, lots of different experiences on the nose. See eBob notes for more detail

April 18, 2008 - This bottle was better. Fresher. Higher alcholo. Very aromatic. Relatively light
