  March 23, 2021 - Skin contact chenin blanc, but from the looks of it, it only contacted the skins in passing. A slight copper-tinged straw colour. Has a tiny bit of tell-tale orange wine whiff—the barest hint of orange rind and oxidation—but not much. On the palate, it is unmonumental as well. Smooth to a fault, it's lacking the bite of either acidity, minerality or, surprisingly, tannin. There is a mild oxidative sweetness, some subtle, suave fruit, and some traces of orange peel, with a little tingly minerality. I kept having moments of feeling the flavour, perhaps most while I was eating, but the whole effect is too soft and flat. It cries out for structure of some kind, and as a result kind of slips around the mouth this way and that without much presence. Not bad, per se, but a bit of a disappointment.
