December 26, 2022 - Nice grower Champagne if a bit on the tart side - one can probably not drive Pinot Blanc much further apart from one or two better growers - so this would have benefited with just a hint of dosage - it’s no date wine but still good
February 5, 2022 - High acid, tart green apple and fizzy mousse. Some brioche on a medium finish. Very enjoyable and approachable to drink now, might develop more complex flavors with some age.

June 23, 2021 - 100% Pinot Blanc. Youthful, aromas of green apple, a little coffee and a little grapefruit (bitterness). Extremely high acidity. The wine develops very positively in the glass and after some time the wine's reductive notes luckily fade away and more distinct brioche aroma shows up. Ends as an excellent btl. Has the special flavour from Pinot Blanc which I also find in Cedric Bouchard's 100% Pinot Blanc Bolorée. Can drink now but I would keep it in the cellar for some years.
April 23, 2021 - Book Club - Reunited (Steve's Place): Blind: I guessed Pinot Blanc because the last flight was PM and this didn't come across as PN or Chardonnay. Stab in the dark.
Nice wine but I'm guessing PB won't change the world. Fine bubbles, well made, and enjoyable but just missing that little something to make it stand out. The fruit was peach/melon which made it fun.
April 22, 2021 - Bookclub--Wines Tasted Blind: Poured blind. My second bottle this month, same disgorgement of May 2019. 100% Pinot Blanc, no dosage, created from 65 year old vines on Kimmeridgian soil, farmed biodynamically. This really showed a nice floral aromatic last night. Juicy and round, lots of flavor and yet with the absence of dosage, there is still some austerity here that I enjoy. Cantaloupe melon, spearmint and a wet stone finish. I really like this wine and I'm intent on trying more off Piollot's cuvees.
April 15, 2021 - When I visited Dominique Moreau at Marie Courtin a few years back, I was able to try a little of Roland Piollot's wines, who is Dominique's husband. He was driving the forklift that day as there was disgorgement going on at the winery. Since then, I hadn't opened any of the wines but recently I grabbed a couple of this 100% Pinot Blanc cuvee to check in. 65 year old vines on Kimmeridgian soil. This is zero dosage, farmed organic (although the estate is now farming biodynamic), disgorged May 2019, which gave the wine almost 4 years on the lees....pretty cool. This is flat out delicious, with tiny, persistent bubbles. A pure lemon to the wine, with some melon when cool. As it warms and aerates, the texture becomes juicier, yet the energy in the wine broadens out. It then picks up pineapple and pear, dried lime with plenty of saline coming from the soil, and I suspect the lack of dosage. You might be able to fool some folks that this wasn't pure Chablis, as it has the clean, mineral lines and flavors of Chard from that area. This was $49 US and is worth a reload. Lovely stuff.

I really enjoy Colas Robin; for me it’s one of the (very rare) most enjoyable 100% pinot blancs that I’ve tried in reference to champagne; it always shows very juicy and energetic, but dense and profound at the same time. The ripe fruit dominates here with a special mention to melon (that we usually find in wines from this region), but also ripe lemons and limes, green apples, pears, white peaches and some pineapple; the wet stones are very present with a subtle and elegant floral touch of lilies and elderflower; with more air, dairy products make their appearance: fresh cheese, milk and yogurt; on the finish we could find some chai spices.
Very juicy texture with a lovely joyful acidity that will last so many years, but it’s really good right now. I would love to know how this wine will advance in 5 years; it’s really difficult to find an aged pinot blanc, so I’m sure it would be interesting and educative.

This is our favorite cuvée by Piollot; having tried several vintages already, we can confirm that it’s very enjoyable to drink, and very accessible (in every sense of the word). So much ripe fruit: predominantly lemon and lime, oranges, mango, lychee, kiwi, and banana; it showed a floral touch of orange blossom, along with fresh herbs such as cut grass, oregano, and some ginger, with metallic touches, and some acidic yogurt/kefir; it also has a medium-high minerality, with pure sea water, some salt, and wet stones.
True to other experiences with this same cuvée: extremely fruity, ripe, and mineral; not at all austere, we can really feel the age of the vines in this wine (60+ y/o), it’s a surprisingly complex wine despite being so young.
