  June 14, 2022 - A very enjoyable Terra Alta wine with a great drinkability. Its name “El Sender” refers to “the path” that winds through the vineyards at Mas Gabrielet. Varietal composition: an assemblage of Garnatxa Negra and Syrah completed with a dash of Morenillo, an indigenous grape variety to the Batea region (province of Tarragona). Maturation: aged for six months in French (80 %) and Central European (20 %) 300-litre oak barrels (first to fourth use). Color: dense cherry-red. Bouquet: enticing nose of black cherry, candied fruit, Mediterranean herbs and a hint of laurel and anise. On the palate: a harmonious, well-balanced wine plenty of ripe plum and bramble fruit, with elegant tannins and a fine acid structure. Finish: lengthy aftertaste with a slight balsamic touch. This wine is in its optimum drinking window now, why wait.
  
  Een aangename en zeer toegankelijke Terra Alta-wijn. De naam "El Sender" verwijst naar "het pad" dat doorheen de wijngaarden van Mas Gabrielet slingert. Samenstelling: een assemblage van Garnatxa Negra en Syrah aangevuld met een vleugje Morenillo, een autochtone druivensoort uit de Batea streek (provincie Tarragona). Rijping: zes maanden in Franse (80 %) en Midden-Europese (20 %) eiken vaten van 300 liter (eerste tot vierde gebruik). Kleur: dicht kersrood. Bouquet: verleidelijke neus van zwarte kers, gekonfijt fruit, mediterrane kruiden en een vleugje laurier en anijs. In de mond: een harmonieuze, mooi uitgebalanceerde wijn vol rijp pruim- en bramenfruit, met elegante tannines en een fijne aciditeitsstructuur. Finale: lange afdronk met een lichte balsamische toets. Deze wijn is nu perfect op dronk, waarom nog langer wachten.

  November 9, 2021 - The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, blueberry, cranberry, red currant, cherry, mineral, light toast, oak and black pepper. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity. Very good for the price.

  October 25, 2021 - Lots of plummy fruit. Really well-made wine with a touch of elegance but would have liked a bit more acidity to offset the slightly cloying black fruit.

  April 23, 2021 - The aroma dominates the fruit with a touch of liquorice. The taste is also fruity (blackberry, plum) a nice structure, fruit and fruit on liqueur and more tannins than I would expect from grenache, light spiciness mainly from the wood.
  
  In de geur overheerst het fruit met een toets van zoethout. De smaak is ook fruitig (braam, pruim) een mooie structuur, fruit en fruit op likeur en meer tannines dan ik zou verwachten van grenache, lichtte kruidigheid voornamelijk van het hout.
