  October 31, 2020 - Anton’s Wine Tasting Notes Anthony Girard Sancerre 2018
  Winery: Anthony Girard Varietal: Sauvignon Blanc
  Area/Appellation: Sancerre—La Clef du Récit
  Vintage: 2018. Price: $30 Auburn Spirits West
  Color: pale straw yellow. Legs: moderate to fast
  Nose: very faint, white flowers (carnations in particular), pear and white peach, lemon,
  Palate: round creamy with grapefruit, citrus but very closed and subdued.
  Finish: crisp yet restrained lots of minerals flinty but also has a unique softness that you usually don’t experience with Sancerre.
  More white peach on the finish and some lemon but the minerals really make this young wine. The ONLY thing bothering me is the below average acidity-or is that intentional with Anthony’s wines.
  
  Comments: I’m going to try and buy a couple more and let them age from 4-7 years as I seriously believe Anthony is trying to build a serious age worthy Sancerre from La Clef Du Récit.

  Pairing Suggestions: Baked cod with asparagus and veggies.

  January 18, 2020 - Loire Tasting at K&L: The nose here isn't terribly expressive--only a light grapefruit note. But on the plate, it's crisper than the pouilly-fume immediately before. On the palate, grapefruit, stone fruit, gooseberry, minimal greenery.
