March 5, 2023 - World of Pinot Noir - 3/5/23 - quick impressions: Rich red fig and date fruit, still lively, with hibiscus, mushroom, tea and clove spices along with further earthy depth. Obviously very secondary, but still with vitality and structurally refined and elegant. One of the top wines tasted.

August 28, 2022 - I will humbly disagree with most of the notes below. The wine at 17 years young is majestic. Light bodied and other comments just don't speak to the depth that is going on here. My bottle is open going on hour number 2 and it is singing - actually the discipline to wait is worth a separate post. Here
is what I love about Jim's wines (RIP JIM). The wine is perfect with food and especially lighter blue cheeses as it moves the needle with wet leaves and forest floor which permeate the wine. There is a herbaceous quality that is like fresh thyme meets the fruit roll-up collection. Magnificent.

May 27, 2021 - Surprisingly dark color? Chocolate covered orange peel aromatics. Very ripe palate still, much riper than I expected.

June 18, 2014 - Burgundian style with red fruit, gamey aromas. Balanced acidity and great texture

December 30, 2011 - Had the last bottle almost 2 years ago, whaooo...what a difference, now it opens up after 1 hour in the decanter, fresh, smooth with hints of raspberries and strawberries. Cannot feel any heat from the 14,5% alcohol at all. This wine really needed some years in the cellar
