July 23, 2023 - This is past it’s prime imho. Open and drink, this did not do well on the 2nd night

February 23, 2022 - I picked this bottle up after a tasting in May of 2021 and kept it cellared until drinking it at 55 degrees. Opened it, decanted it and let it rest for around 1 hour. Paired it with a Tomahawk steak and roasted brussels sprouts. A good wine for the price and, as I was told, a great merlot based wine for cabernet sauvignon lovers. It has a lot of the full body richness that we love.

The wine looks purple colored. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. The body is full. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

September 13, 2021 - Removed this wine from a 55 active and poured to the decanter to rest for 90 minutes. It probably could have benefitted from a 3-4 hour time frame.

I was not too impressed with this atypical Paso blend of merlot, petite Syrah, CS, and petit Verdot. Reticent nose even after 90 minutes of black plum, evergreen, and menthol. Medium bodied on the palate. Seemed disjointed and not properly balanced. The different varieties seemed to clash with each other ..... resulting in a lack of harmony and focus.

There was a bitter/acrid note throughout. Clipped and non descript finish. Would not repurchase at this price point of $60 +. The only redeeming factor was the beautiful deep plum nose.
