May 29, 2010 - Purple red. Red currant & bilberry with a hint of leather aroma. Muted red currant with a little plum. Still sharp tannins with medium finish. Showing its age - time to drink up.

January 10, 2010 - Blueberry & leather aroma w/hint of sage. Jammy blueberry w/sage, rosemary & hints of oak. Tannins muted but still drys your mouth a little on the medium finish. Nice with spaghetti & a mild tomato sauce.

August 23, 2007 - appearance: dark purple to maroon. Pretty dense, but not totally inky
aroma: flowery with some dark berry hints. Black licorice. Some oak. Subtle leather.
mouthfeel: medium and pretty silky. Tannins are firm, but in check. No salient alcohol. Good balance.
flavor: subtle berry in the attack transitions to a good balance of fruits and vegetables on the mid palate with a slightly spicy green pepper finish. Very interesting.

Nice wine! Tried it first with some pasta and simple red sauce, the garlic in which overwhelmed the wine. Consumed on its own, it's very nice, but more mild-mannered than I expected. (89-90)
