March 12, 2021 - Pours medium to dark garnet, with a nose of blue fruit predominantly with some black fruit, also cassis and pepper. The palate is a wonderful and elegant, while maintaining layers, interest and nuance. The fruit mingles with fine tannin. It’s a throw-back Cabernet, extracted in a balanced way that emphasizes Howell Mountain fruit. Hard to find a wine this good at this price from anywhere, but good luck finding an excellent Howell Mountain Cabernet for $95. Exceptionally done, and a huge value. 95 for me, 96 for my wife.
